STORE MANAGER - CUBITTS COAL DROPS YARD, LONDON

To celebrate the company’s fifth birthday, we’re thrilled to be opening our Coal Drops Yard store in King’s Cross this October. We are looking for a Store Manager to launch and nurture our new site, located seconds from the newly regenerated Granary Square. Steeped in industrial history, King’s Cross is where the Cubitts brand was born and where our rivet logo originated - inspired by the surrounding architectural features.

The role:

  • Ensure the seamless launch and running of a new store, working closely with our HQ departments in building a successful shop team and growing a loyal customer base
  • Continuously meeting our high customer experience standards and consequently achieving our daily targets
  • Successfully manage all dispensing activities and be responsible for your team
  • Expertly communicating daily focuses to your colleagues, maintaining brand consistency throughout
  • To comfortably explain eye health, eyewear and prescription terminology to patients
  • Manage and work with our Optometrists and your team to provide impeccable lens and frame selection, fitting and customer service
  • Work alongside our glazing partners, excelling in lens selection
  • Develop, execute, and constantly improve operational activities to ensure the store exceeds financial and customer focused goals
  • Regularly feedback to the Head of Retail and attend Management meetings

  • Ideally a qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the GOC, however three years working in Optics would be adequate - depending on level of managerial experience

ASSISTANT MANAGER - CUBITTS COAL DROPS YARD, LONDON

We are in search of a full-time Assistant Manager to launch and co-run our exciting new site, Cubitts Coal Drops Yard. Located seconds from the newly regenerated Granary Square, the shop is set in railway arches steeped in the industrial history of King's Cross.

The role:

  • Supporting the Store Manager as the new shop launches, ensuring a seamless running of the business, helping to meet sales targets and customer experience standards
  • In the Manager’s absence, conduct all senior dispensing activities and be responsible for your team
  • To comfortably explain eye health, eyewear and prescription terminology to patients
  • Manage and work with our Optometrists and your team to provide impeccable lens and frame selection, fitting and customer service
  • Work alongside our glazing partners, excelling in lens selection
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout the store

We are in search of a full-time Senior Optical Associate to be based at our exciting new site, Cubitts Coal Drops Yard. Located seconds from the newly regenerated Granary Square and King's Cross station, originally built by the Cubitt brothers, the shop is surrounded by the industrial history that inspired our company.

The role:

We are seeking enthusiastic Retail Associates (full-time or part-time) to join our fast-growing team as we unveil the latest additions to our existing five stores. An exciting and unique opportunity, you will be based at one of our upcoming locations: Cubitts Fitzrovia or Cubitts Coal Drops Yard.

The role:

  • Manage sales, deal with enquiries, book and assist eye tests, and offer impeccable customer service to everyone who enters the store

RESIDENT OPTOMETRISTS - FULL-TIME AND WEEKENDS

We are seeking full-time and part-time Optometrists to be based in one of our five London practices. You will be providing outstanding clinical care, and the highest calibre of eye examinations to our patients.

HQ VACANCIES

MIDWEIGHT DESIGNER, FULL TIME

Cubitts are seeking a talented, ambitious midweight graphic designer, responsible for conceptualising, designing and artworking our projects across digital and print. This is a broad and varied role, which will work in close collaboration with retail, marketing and digital teams.

The role:

  • Working with the marketing team to ensure consistent brand aesthetic across all communication channels
  • Maintaining and developing design guidelines and brand templates
  • Working with the digital team to design newsletter templates
  • Designing, conceptualising and producing the printed journal, The Spectacle
  • Ecommerce — Designing and artworking of banners, digital ads, newsletters, and other marketing materials
  • Retail — Designing and artworking printed collateral for events, special projects, seasonal campaigns, retail needs and day to day communications (flyers, posters, POS, etc)
  • Digital — Working alongside the digital team to design and upkeep of new and existing pages on the website, and also The Speculator
  • Design, develop and artwork graphics for internal use, online, print, PR
  • Create and upkeep of internal presentations and newsletters such as The Spectacular
  • Design and upkeep window and in store graphics for new launches and special projects
  • Support the marketing and creative team on further improvement of brand aesthetic and graphics
  • Manage and oversee print production for all customer facing printed branded collaterals and liaise with printers ensuring quality is consistent and budgets are adhered to

Who you are:

  • 3+ years prior experience in a graphic design role
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or related fields
  • Personal design aesthetic which feels aligns well with the Cubitts brand
  • Passionate about good design, and are excited at the idea of working at a spectacles company
  • Can present a portfolio that demonstrates a varied skillset - digital, print, product and retail experience all desirable
  • Proven abilities to work with Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

GLAZING LAB TECHNICIAN – CUBITTS KING’S CROSS HQ

We are seeking an experienced, full-time Glazing Lab Technician to join our ever-growing Workshop team. You will be based at our Operations HQ in King’s Cross, London and be an integral part of our order fulfilment workflow as the company’s customer base continues to flourish.

The role:

  • You will be responsible for seamlessly running the Cubitts in-house glazing facility, based in our bustling King’s Cross Workshop
  • You will cut, edge and fit lenses to the highest standard, using the latest technology
  • You will provide a quick turnaround of lenses for our single vision glazing service
  • You will work with the Operations team to replenish store products daily, meeting strict deadlines and our high-quality standards
  • You will monitor our lens stock and help manage the lens inventory
  • You will actively engage and effectively communicate with Store Managers and the Customer Service team to ensure outstanding products, care and service at all times
  • You’ll initially work independently, but with the view to help grow a small, efficient team of Optical glazers

Who you are:

  • An experienced Optical Glazing Laboratory Technician, with ideally at least a year’s previous experience

FINANCE ASSISTANT - CUBITTS HQ

We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our ever-expanding HQ team. You’ll assist the Finance Director with the management of all day-to-day monetary operations, overseeing inputs into our accounting software platforms. This role is critical for supporting our financial reporting, budgeting and strategic decision making as we continue our significant growth into 2019 and beyond.

The role:

  • You will be responsible for accounts payable and the management of vital supplier relations
  • Oversee various bank reconciliations, including the collation of information and documentation from our stores
  • Manage our internal PO and personal expenses claims system
  • Assist and monitor store cash reconciliations
  • Deal with ad-hoc finance queries from HQ personnel and our store managers
  • Monitor and prepare budgets & forecasts for regular company meetings
  • Build a trusting relationship with internal departments, assisting with receipts and invoice processing
  • Assist with payroll set-up, queries and maintenance, liaising with the Retail team to ensure this is carried out efficiently
  • Follow strict privacy and Data Protection guidelines at all times when handling sensitive financial information

Who you are:

  • You’ve studied a Finance relevant degree or have previous and recent in-depth accounting experience
  • You have Intermediate or Higher level Excel experience and are familiar with Xero or similar accounting software
  • You work in a calm, analytical and methodical way
  • You’re able to juggle multiple projects in a busy work environment
  • You enjoy organising, problem-solving and seeing a project grow from strength to strength
  • You show great initiative, positivity and determination
